Function Deletes

Function Deletes

Function deletes are getting more and more common with the new systems being put into modern diesel vehicles. If your having issues with your EGR, DPF or Ad-Blue system or just want it deleting to prevent future issues we can do this for you!

The function delete service speaks to the Engine control unit of the vehicle, by doing this we can effectively remove these functions from your vehicle. With the EGR and AdBlue function deletes once completed the vehicle requires no additional work. With DPF function deletes it is required to physically remove the DPF internals from the vehicle.

To understand this better well explain how the DPF works. The (D)iesel (P)articulate (F)ilter is a filter which is on your vehicles exhaust system, this is a filter there for emissions reasons. As you can imagine this filter gets blocked up, this is why newer diesel vehicles require a regeneration - this is where you get the vehicle up to high temperatures usually by driving in a lower gear and higher rpm's than needed for a long period of time. Because the parameters required for a regeneration are not very often met by the common driver, the DPF gets blocked up, puts a light on your dashboard and if not seen to can cause big problems for your engine / turbo. The light is put on your dashboard when a sensor near the DPF reads outside of its parameters.

Our DPF function delete service can change these parameters to be excessive so the vehicles ecu never sees a problem - even when blocked. Now we understand how the system works we can see how this can be a big problem, this is why we have to physically take the filter from inside of your exhaust once the function delete has taken place. The physical removal of DPF's is a service we offer for extra cost. I know your probably thinking why can't we just remove the internals without the function delete? This is because the sensor we spoke about earlier will once again read outside of its parameters and put a light on the dashboard. Although there is no obligation to get the DPF removed by ourselves we highly recommend you get it done one way or another to avoid engine and turbo issues down the line.

Our Function deletes are not always to prevent issues with your vehicle. We also remove DPF and AdBlue systems for customers looking to take there vehicles off road.

We must advise that the (E)xhaust (G)as (Reculation) Valve, (D)iesel (P)articulate (F)ilter and the AdBlue system are all put into place by car manufacturers for emissions reasons. Therefore it is not legal to remove these items from your vehicle if it is being used on the road. With the emissions functions like mentioned above causing so many costly issues for vehicles this doesn't stop millions of people having function deletes anyway.

As well as function deletes we offer a DTC delete service. This is a service where we delete codes from the ecu of the vehicle. The codes we can delete are engine ecu related codes only, not airbag codes etc. By deleting codes we can effectively remove lights from your dashboard if this is the code bringing the light on. Although we offer this service we must make you aware that a code is there for a reason and many times deleting it to remove the light isn't going to be good for the vehicle. Is some cases a code can be bringing a light on your dashboard and you have had the car diagnosed and there is no fault what so ever - these are the instances we advise this service.
